Things What I Had Published in 2018

Sooo to go by my posting, I had one story published this year. It’s actually three, with one more coming out later this week. Oops!

But it’s a new day, and almost a new year, so allow me to quickly recap things what I had published this year.

“The Call of Uncopyrighted Intellectual Property” in The Cackle of Cthulhu, edited by Alex Shvartsman, Baen.  A lawyer for a horror b-movie studio contends with an Eldritch horror.

“The Efficacy of Tyromancy over Reflective Scrying Methods in Divining Colleagues’ Coming Misfortunes,” Diabolical Plots. A highly put-upon academic at a magic college “proves” the superiority of divination through cheese curds.

“Truescent, Wrongscent,” Daily Science Fiction. A dog can’t comprehend why her human is ailing.

And “Skinned,” Cast of Wonders. A girl and her android guardian are scavenging an abandoned warehouse for a pod that can generate him a new skin.

I love all of them for different reasons, but if we’re talking awards, then I have to admit that “Skinned” is likely the best shot, as my other pieces are humor–which is great but typically not what people think of when it comes to awards–and flash–also great but also typically not what people think of when it comes to awards.

Also! I would be remiss if I didn’t say that I’m in my second year of Campbell eligibility.

Go forth and read and nominate if you’re so inclined. Happy December!
